positions that begin their four year term July 1, 2018.  Deadline for submitting your

The Mississippi  Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists (MBOE) is the regulatory body for licensing social workers in the state of Mississippi. 

Are you interested in serving on the BOE?  You must be licensed in good standing with the MBOE, and able to attending meetings in Jackson every month in order to conduct Board business of licensing social workers, attending to disciplinary matters, and serving on committees.  Your employer must agree to this one day a month absence in service to the MBOE; these positions are voluntary, and if appointed (by the Governor or Lt. Governor with confirmation by the Legislative PEER Committee and the MS Senate Public Health & Welfare Committee) you will be serving a four year term.  You do NOT have to be an NASW for these positions.

It is strongly recommended that you read the social work licensing law and the Rules & Regulations Governing Social Work Licensure if you apply.  You can find these at the link to the MBOE below.
